They wanted to offer an alternative to the mundane, a brand inspired by the Riot Grrrl and Punk movements, more reflective of their industry. The logo takes influence from the classic Riot Grrrl image, ransom note lettering inspiring a custom drawn word mark where each letter varies in weight and size. This is tied together with the use of straight lines, drawing reference from tape markings used by roadies to mark out stages on tour.
These influences are expanded out across the rest of the brand, neon tape inspiring the colour palette with black and yellow a nod to their Manchester home. Cut and paste style half tone graphics assist the punk aesthetic while bold type adds a hint of protest, a desire to revolutionise their industry.
